Turquoise Thursday - A Sophisticated Giveaway

Who wants a bracelet?

Alysson over at Simplicity is the Ultimate Sophistication is my new Instagram friend. I love her fashion sense, and she makes these great bracelets.

I think they are a cute mix between the bracelets you and your best friends made at summer camp and lady like elegance. Plus, I love her turquoise option!

Currently, her bracelets range in price from $20-$36, and she takes her orders off of her facebook page while she is working on getting her etsy store up.

Aren't they cute. I really like that electric green one too.

She is the ultimate pro at stacking jewelry. I think the new term is #armparty

Aren't these turquoise cross bracelets awesome.

Alysson has graciously offered one of her bracelets in a Crystal Cattle giveaway. Here's the plan. You must follow my blog and leave a comment below for each entry.

Are you living an amazing life?

Positivity.

I have a friend in my life named Robyn Beazley, and I think I would be safe in saying she is one of the most positive, uplifting, go-getting people you will every meet. In 2010 Robyn put her love for life onto paper and wrote the book Live an Amazing Life: Stories that inspire and encourage positive attitude. And it is awesome.

I recently finished the book, and there are a few things I want to share with you. Just statements that touched me, and inspired me.

"It is said that the only difference between today and five years from today are the people you meet and the books you read."

"Do you add value to other peoples lives..."

"... God only gives obstacles to those he knows can overcome them."

"Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle." ~ Attributed to both T.H. Thompson and John Watson. I love this quote.

"... invest in yourself."

"The first step to getting what you want is knowing what you want."

"If you keep doing what you're doing right now, where will you be in 5 years?" ~ Rita Davenport. This is a new favorite quote of mine, and I have it posted in my bathroom for me to read everyday.

The book is a quick read, that really made me think about where I was going and how I am going to get there. Thanks Robyn for writing such an amazing piece. You certainly inspired me.

I Believe - Part VII

It's I Believe Tuesday!

I Believe -
that regardless of how hot and steamy a relationship is at first, that passion fades and there had better be something else to take its place.

I Believe -
that just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to doesn't mean they don't love you at all.

I guess this weeks theme has to do with love. To read all of the I Believe posts, search I Believe in the search bar at the top of my blog.

I Believe... Part III

It's Tuesday! And who could think of a better way to start of the week!

Here are Tuesday's "I Believe" lessons. To read other the other "I Believe" posts, use that new handy little search bar and search I Believe.

This weeks I Believe's have a little story behind them. One of our wonderful interns from this summer sent me a message yesterday that really brightened my day. She also told me that she posted the "I Believe" messages on her mirror during her freshman year of college and looked at it every morning. I am thinking that my mirror might be getting an update. These are some of her favorites.

I believe - maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you've had and what you've learned from them and less to do with how many birthdays you've celebrated.

I believe - even when you think you have no more to give, when a friend cries out to you - you will find the strength to help.

I believe - just because two people argue, it doesn't mean they don't love each other. And just because they don't argue, it doesn't mean they do.

I believe - you can keep going long after you think you can't

I believe - when you think things are going to be okay...they never are. believe anyway.

Some days you got to day dream...

about the future - the very distance future.

I stumbled across this photography blog and 1. this lady is amazing, 2. these are some of the most beautiful weddings I have seen. You'll have to check out the blog to see all of the photos.

What really caught my eye was this little purple design on the cake. I have always said black would be one of my wedding colors (I know that sounds odd), but now I might have to work on adding some purple.

Disclaimer: Don't get excited, I am pretty happy with my situation right now, and do not plan on getting married anytime soon :)

Love this

...but probably won't get one for awhile.

I friend of mine does some excellent photography work - both weddings and people pictures. Her work always seems to get better and better. I also love that Rachel is a cattle girl, that use to work for an agency. However, she knew she had a talent and left her job to purse a career of her own. That takes courage! Rachel has a great blog where you can see her work. Click here.

Anyways below is a picture from one of her recent wedding shoots and I love it! One day I will have one these.

Some inspiration...

Well the church didn't light on fire when I walked in.

So it has been awhile since I have been to church. When I do show up I still get the oh is this your first time response from some of the regulars. The fact is I have been trying to go as much as possible for awhile now. I found an awesome United Methodist church really close to our old house, and love the pastor there.

Now my family didn't grow up going to church ever Sunday, but my sister and I attended vacation Bible study camps for many summers. I actually started going to church in college when Emilie invited me along one day. I have read the Bible, but don't have all those stories and people memorized so sometimes I feel a little bit in a daze, however there have been some things said lately that made e a lot of sense.

This past Sunday our pastor was talking about putting things in God's hands. He said too often we try and sort out our problems without his guidance, and really us humans are pretty good at making a bigger mess of things. Now that I think about it he's probably right. New goal ask for some help before I tackle the issue.

The second thing is something that my friend Miss Blue posted on her facebook wall that really inspired me and went along quite well with this past Sunday's sermon on sacrifice.  She quoted  "I AM a CHILD of THE KING! He paid a price for ME w/ His OWN Son..."The Lord has chosen you to be His treasured possession" ~ Deuteronomy 14:2" And her conclusion was "Now do you realize your own value???"

And I will leave you to think about that.
